Seven different organizations have donated assorted items to the impending National Farmers Day celebration at Koforidua in the Eastern Region. The celebration is slated for 2nd of December, 2022.

Donating the items the various companies brought assorted items ranging from a tractor, spraying machines, weedicides, insecticides, chicken feed and protective clothings.

Their representatives expressed their delight to be part of the august celebration as a result of the important roles farmers play in the lives of the nation. The praised farmers for providing food for the people of Ghana and keeping the masses healthy and strong.

They promised to support the celebration at all times. The lamented about the economic down turn facing the country but in spite of this challenge they will not waver in their national duty to support a worthy course.

Receiving the items the Deputy Minister in charge of Crops, Hon Yaw Frimpong Addo thanked the donors for their generous gesture and thanked them for this wonderful donation.

He intimated that in spite of the economic crunch some companies have shown favour for our dear farmers.  He told the donors that the items would be given to the deserving farmers to boost their morale and enthusiasm to work harder to feed the nation.

He indicated that the global economic meltdown has affected this year’s donations but he asked others to come in to do more. He lamented about this year’s inadequate receipts, however, he hoped many more organisations will come in as expected to spice up the celebration.

He therefore called on the Media to court other corporate bodies to join the bandwagon to donate to this important course. He however indicated that in spite of the current economic challenge, all the prizes will not be affected as well as all other categories will remain intact.
