The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for the immediate removal of the leaders of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), accusing them of failing repeatedly to block cocaine trafficking through Ghana. Speaking at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the NPP’s Second National Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, said the time for excuses was over.“The head of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), the leadership there, they must go. Ghana Airports Company Limited, they must go; the leadership there, from the MD to the head of security, they must all leave,” Nana B declared. He extended the call to the heads of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) and National Security, insisting that their combined lapses had made Ghana a favoured corridor for international drug cartels.

The party linked its demand to at least 14 major cocaine and drug seizures connected to Ghana between March 2025 and October 2026. Among them were the 46.7 kilogrammes of cocaine seized from a Syrian national who flew from Accra to Beirut on October 31, and nearly 3.9 tonnes of suspected cocaine intercepted at the Port of Dunkirk in France in September 2026. Nana B argued that the pattern of seizures exposed deep cracks in Ghana’s border and airport security.
In addition to the dismissals, the NPP wants a bipartisan parliamentary probe with public hearings into all Ghana-linked seizures since January 2025, the release of the inter-agency task force roadmap within seven days, and a joint statement with Lebanese authorities on the Beirut case. The party also rejected NACOC’s claim that the Beirut seizure was part of a controlled delivery, and pressed for the arrest and prosecution of any officials found to have aided the movement of narcotics through Ghana’s airports.
