The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has announced that cooking services by GSFP Caterers for the 1st Term of 2022 academic year will commence on 25th January, 2022 instead of the 18th January, 2022 announced by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Again, it has announced that payment of the 2nd Term arrears started last week for Six (6) regions including part of the Greater Accra Region and will continue for the remaining regions in a few days.
This was contained in a notice issued with the approval of the Hon Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs. Cecilia Abena Dapaah and directed at all its Caterers across the 16 regions of Ghana to observe the following:
The Secretariat announced that all GSFP Caterers should use the first one week (from 18th to 25th January) to stock their stores and tidy up their cooking spaces to ensure a good hygienic environment.
The Secretariat announced that all caterers are mandated to provide wholesome meals based on their district menu and that the cost per child is still One Ghana Cedis (GHC 1.00)
“All caterers and cooks should have valid Health Certificates on display at their work site,” the statement said.
The statement alerted Caterers to be aware that only Caterers authorized to provide meals are those on the Ghana School Feeding Programme Master List.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Caterers should endeavor to contact their Regional Coordinators or District Desk Officers for further directives.
“The National and Regional Offices of the GSFP have been tasked to work with MMDAs as well as the GES and Health Directorates to ensure an effective and safe food service delivery to pupils.
“Caterers and cooks are encouraged to strictly adhere to COVID – 19 safety protocols. Once again, GSFP wishes to assure all Caterers especially those who are yet to receive payment, that their 2nd term arrears would soon be released,” said the statement signed by Siiba Alfa, head of Public Relations, GSFP.
The statement was dated 17th January, 2022.
