The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect identified as Bismark Kpormeno in connection with the alleged possession and transportation of a substantial quantity of compressed plant materials suspected to be illicit narcotic substances.
According to an official statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Command, the arrest was carried out on Sunday, May 31, 2026, by personnel of the Tema Highway Patrol Unit during a targeted security operation along the Tema to Ada stretch of road.
The suspect was reportedly operating a Hyundai Mighty II container truck when officers signalled him to stop. He allegedly failed to comply and attempted to evade the security check, prompting a pursuit by the patrol team which eventually led to his arrest at Bondase.
