Adaklu (V/R), Jan. 26, GNA-Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, has commended the works of Mr. Phanuel Donkor, immediate past DCE for Adaklu.
The Regional Minister who visited the district while on a week-long tour of the Region, noticed some impressive installations including; health facilities, police stations and a court building, all realized during the DCE’s single tenure in office.
All the facilities had been solidly walled and boasted magnificence beyond the perceivable abilities of the District, which until recently, was known as a district with no tarred roads.
Phanuel Donkor, who was among the youngest of Assembly chief executives in the Region, got faced with traditional leaders during his reign, and who had publicly called for his removal.
Assembly Members twice rejected his reappointment, and he left the farming District with monumental public facilities- edifices of effective resource utilization.
During his stay in office, Adaklu received its first stretch of tarred roads, and the Assembly distributed police stations and health centers strategically in the vast, underdeveloped district.
An imposing court building is nearing completion in the district capital and has been placed next to a Police station, seemingly too spacious for the young district.
A popular weekly animal market had also been upgraded with lockable stores and an open slaughterhouse, and the Regional Minister was informed of plans by the Assembly to develop it into a daily marketplace.
“Adaklu has done a lot of projects under the former DCE. Their contract management was impressive. They’ve done so many projects in Adaklu that impresses me a lot and those are projects some of them should be celebrating.
“You know there is another police station they have constructed in Adaklu Ahunda. So under the leadership of the former DCE, they have actually constructed two police posts, many CHPS compounds, and he came up with the animal market, the slaughter house and all those ideas, and I think did quite well.
“But there is no DCE now, and am acting”, he added, expressing hope that next to be nominated for the position would be approved.
Assembly members again had rejected the second nominee of the President, and a third had recently been nominated, awaiting the dreaded approval ballot.
