George Campbell is staying put.
CF Montreal signed the center back to a contract extension through the 2025 Major League Soccer season, with an additional option for 2026. Campbell initially joined Montreal in mid-December after three seasons with Atlanta United, where he managed one goal across 36 regular-season games.
Montreal is looking to strengthen the roster during the offseason, after their best-ever MLS season yet. The team concluded in second place on the Eastern Conference table, reaching the Conference semifinals before falling 3-1 to New York City FC.
The club has already begun to see changes, replacing head coach Wilfried Nancy for Hernan Losada, signing Aaron Herrera in a trade with Real Salt Lake and tying down James Pantemis with a contract extension.
More moves are expected from the Canadian MLS team as the 2023 campaign approaches.
