During a visit to the bereaved family at Wulensi in the Nanumba South District of the Northern Region on Saturday, June 20, the Minister emphasized that the state remains resolute in its pursuit of accountability, stating that time would not diminish the determination to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Speaking in the presence of Ahmed Suale’s mother, Yakubu Arahamatu, Mr. Iddrisu expressed confidence that justice would ultimately be achieved, underscoring that the passage of time does not extinguish responsibility or weaken the pursuit of truth in such a serious case.

He remarked that while the process of justice may be slow and difficult, it remains inevitable, stressing that no individual involved in the crime would permanently evade accountability. He further assured the family that government would continue to pursue all credible leads until the matter is fully resolved.

The Minister also used the opportunity to offer words of encouragement, indicating that the family should remain hopeful as state institutions continue their work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the journalist’s murder.

The visit formed part of a broader engagement in the area, where Mr. Iddrisu also joined the NDC Constituency Chairman in Bimbilla to mourn the passing of the chairman’s father, extending condolences and solidarity.

As part of government support measures, the Minister further announced assistance for the family, including a commitment to consider Ahmed Suale’s sister under the Ghana Education Service recruitment process to help ease the family’s responsibilities and provide long term support.

Ahmed Suale’s killing remains one of Ghana’s most high profile unresolved murder cases, continuing to draw public attention and calls for accountability from press freedom advocates and civil society groups.
