The High Court sitting in Accra has granted bail to the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited, NAFCO, Hanan Abdul Wahab Aludiba, together with his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, in an ongoing criminal case involving allegations of financial loss and corruption linked to more than GH¢50 million in public funds.
The court set bail for Hanan Abdul Wahab Aludiba at GH¢60 million, while his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, was granted bail in the amount of GH¢3.5 million. Both accused persons are required to produce two justified sureties each, who must themselves be approved as reliable guarantors.
This ruling followed their plea of not guilty to a revised twenty count charge sheet filed by the Attorney General’s Department.
In addition to the financial conditions attached to their release, the court imposed strict measures designed to ensure that both accused persons remain available throughout the trial process. They have been placed on a stop list at all national entry and exit points, effectively preventing international travel while proceedings continue. The court further ordered them to surrender their passports to the Registry of the court.
As part of their bail obligations, the accused persons must report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office once every two weeks. The court also indicated that they will remain subject to their existing bail conditions at EOCO, citing concerns over their immediate ability to satisfy the newly imposed requirements.
The court has given both accused persons until 21 May 2026 to fully comply with all bail conditions, including the provision of sureties and completion of all administrative steps required for their release.
On the side of the prosecution, the court directed the State to submit its witness statements and all relevant disclosures within seven days, where these have not already been filed.
The accused persons have also been instructed to provide a list of witnesses they intend to call in their defence should they choose to proceed with one.
The matter has been adjourned to 28 May 2026 at 12 noon for a Case Management Conference.
