The group Occupyghana has written again to the Lands Commission for information on lands it has released or relinquished to their allodial owners and others.
This was contained in a reminder/letter with reference number OG/2022/030 dated 31 August 2022 and addressed to the Ag Executive Secretary, Lands Commission, Accra, for the Attention of Mssrs. James E K Dadson and titled “RE: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION CONCERNING RELEASED/RELINQUISHED LANDS”.
Occupyghana wrote, “We write to remind you, once again, that we are waiting for the detailed information on the release or relinquishment of public lands, as per our original request for information dated 2 June 2022 (our ref OG/2022/007).
“We are increasingly getting alarmed that for almost three months and after several reminders, the Lands Commission, contrary to its promise, has not been able to provide records that it should have in its possession, custody or control.
“If we do not receive the information requested within 7 days of the date of this letter, we will commence proceedings against you before the Right to Information Commission,” the letter concluded.
It was copied to the Chairman, Lands Commission, Accra.
