A great leader they say is known by his exemplary deeds and compassionate characteristics. And these characteristics invariably manifest itself in the discharge of responsibilities by that great leader.
It was therefore not surprising when, GJA Presidential hopeful, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, noted for his selflessness and compassionate gestures, put smiles on the face of grieving family as he stormed the funeral of the wife of the Editor of Daily Democrat Mr. Emmanuel Opare Djan to commiserate with him on Saturday (September 25th 2021).
The show of love by the incoming GJA President, (as was the shout- outs from Journalists amongst sympathizers at the funeral) resonated the spirit of the sobbing bereaved family thereby throwing the funeral into a state of frenzy.
Not only was Albert Dwumfour commended by Journalists for the show of camaraderie to Mr.Opare Djan but was immensely appreciated for being the only GJA Presidential hopeful to have attended and supported the one week celebration at North Kaneshie in Accra 3 months ago and the main funeral itself.
“My brother, it is not easy to organize a funeral and one person cannot do it alone , that’s why in grieving moments like this, the bereaved or the widower needs our support. That’s all leadership is about, to show compassion and love”, Mr. Dwumfour told www.thedailysearchlight.com in an exclusive interview.
“…If I’m campaigning on championing the welfare of Journalists and advocating for their needs, then I have no excuse not to be at this funeral. This is leadership by example and this goes to affirm that indeed I am committed to the welfare of Journalists”.
He added that it is his insatiable desire to see Journalists’ livelihood status transformed drastically under his leadership as GJA President.
As the current organizing Secretary of GJA who is vying for the President in the forthcoming elections, Mr. Albert Dwumfour has in diverse ways been supporting Journalists and the media in general.

The Funeral
The funeral was well attended by people from far and near coupled with Journalists thronging to the funeral grounds to commiserate with their colleague and senior, Emmanuel Opare Djan as he lay his late wife to a befitting rest.

The MC, Mr. Samuel Ofori Ayim who is the Morning show host of Atinka FM executed his task seamlessly.
