The people of Bonya are celebrating the opening of a fully equipped CHPS Compound, a long-awaited solution to their healthcare woes. For years, residents had to travel far to access medical care, with expectant mothers facing the toughest challenges. The lack of a nearby facility led to heartbreaking losses, including babies lost during childbirth.

The journey to this milestone began when community members approached their MP, Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare, with requests for a health facility and a school. The MP delivered on her promise, and the CHPS compound is now a reality. “I made a promise, and today, that promise has been fulfilled,” she said at the commissioning ceremony.

The facility is expected to greatly improve healthcare in Bonya, handling basic maternal and child health cases and reducing the burden on the district hospital. The MP also donated a motorcycle to aid health staff movement, especially during emergencies.

The Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, urged residents to protect and maintain the facility for future generations
