In a statement released on Wednesday, August 5, the party disclosed that the Functional Executive Committee, during its meeting on Tuesday, August 4, approved the release of the electoral schedule to formally commence the process for selecting new constituency, regional and national executives.

The NDC explained that the timetable serves as a detailed framework outlining the various phases of the internal electoral exercise, including the opening and closure of nominations, submission of nomination forms, screening of aspirants, appeals processes, balloting arrangements and the eventual elections across constituency, regional and national levels.

According to the party, the publication of the timetable demonstrates its commitment to organising internal elections that are transparent, credible, properly structured and consistent with the provisions of the National Democratic Congress Constitution and approved election guidelines.

The party therefore encouraged all regional and constituency executives, interested aspirants and members to carefully study the electoral schedule and comply with all requirements and deadlines outlined in the process.

The NDC emphasised that strict adherence to the timelines and procedures would be essential in ensuring a smooth, orderly and successful internal election process.

The party also expressed appreciation to its members, executives and stakeholders for their continued dedication, discipline and commitment to the ideals of the organisation.

The statement further indicated that the NDC remains confident that the unity and collective commitment demonstrated throughout its reorganisation process will strengthen the party’s position ahead of the 2028 General Elections.

“We remain confident that the spirit of unity and collective purpose that has characterised our reorganisation process will continue to strengthen the Party as we prepare to secure an emphatic victory in the 2028 General Elections,” the statement said.

Under the approved timetable, nominations for constituency executive positions will officially open on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. and close on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Prospective candidates seeking constituency executive positions will be required to complete their applications online through the party’s designated nomination platform, forms.ghanandc.com.

Aspirants will then be given seven days to complete the nomination process, including obtaining the required endorsements on Form B.

The filing of constituency nominations is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24, 2026.

During this period, candidates will be expected to submit their nomination documents electronically between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., while physical copies will also be submitted at their respective constituency offices within the same timeframe.

The vetting of constituency executive aspirants will take place from Friday, September 25, to Sunday, September 27, 2026, at designated constituency offices.

Candidates who wish to challenge vetting decisions will have the opportunity to appeal between Tuesday, September 29, and Thursday, October 1, 2026, with hearings scheduled to take place at regional party offices.

The constituency executive elections are expected to be held on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, 2026, at approved voting locations across the various constituencies.

For the national executive elections, the nomination process will begin on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. and end on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Individuals seeking national executive positions will also be required to submit their applications through the party’s online nomination portal.

National executive aspirants will have 14 days to complete their nomination documentation before the official filing period, which is scheduled from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9, 2026.

The party stated that nomination documents for national positions must be submitted both electronically and physically at the NDC national headquarters between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the filing period.

The vetting of candidates contesting national executive positions is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, 2026, at the party’s national headquarters.

The internal elections form part of the NDC’s broader organisational restructuring programme aimed at strengthening party structures, improving grassroots participation and preparing the party for future political contests.
