She made the remarks during the National Democratic Congress June 4 Uprising Commemoration held at Banda on Thursday, June 4, where party faithful gathered to reflect on the historical significance of the movement and its guiding principles.

According to the Vice President, the foundation of the party was built on the belief that governance systems at the time required correction, a purpose she said must continue to shape the conduct and decisions of those currently in public office.

“There is a reason why we became a party that should never escape our minds. We became a party because we thought there was something going wrong. If we are here, we must right that wrong and ensure that the rightness that we have established remains.

It has to remain in the lives of everybody. Whatever policy we bring should translate into the physical and everyday life of people. Whatever policy that we worked so hard to manufacture in our manifesto must mean the way we are implementing this manifesto to better the lives of people,” she stated.

She emphasised that public policy must not remain abstract or theoretical but must be reflected in visible development outcomes that citizens can directly experience. In her view, the true measure of governance lies in the extent to which national decisions improve living conditions across communities.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang further explained that ongoing investments in key sectors such as transportation infrastructure, healthcare delivery systems, and education reform demonstrate the government’s intention to ensure that national resources are deployed in a manner that benefits the wider population.

“This is how we are planning to spend national resources, in the way that benefits all of us,” she added.

The Vice President also commended Ministers of State as well as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives for their continued efforts in implementing government programmes aimed at advancing national development objectives.

She noted that effective coordination at all levels of governance remains essential to ensuring that policy intentions are successfully translated into measurable outcomes that improve quality of life across the country.
