The Ministry of Health has taken delivery of advanced bedside pulse oximeters valued at over 100,000 United States dollars, donated by WAMPHARMA to support government efforts under the Free Primary Healthcare initiative.
The equipment is expected to significantly improve child healthcare services while also strengthening the delivery of primary healthcare across health facilities nationwide.
Presenting the donation, WAMPHARMA’s Director of Partnerships and Sales for West Africa, David Sam, explained that the support followed strategic discussions with Masimo aimed at contributing to government’s flagship healthcare programme and expanding access to quality medical services.
He noted that the intervention forms part of broader efforts by the organisation to complement public health systems and enhance patient monitoring capabilities at the primary care level.
Receiving the items on behalf of government, Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh expressed appreciation to WAMPHARMA for what he described as a timely and impactful contribution to the country’s healthcare system.
He characterised the donation as a strong endorsement of the Free Primary Healthcare policy and its potential to transform healthcare delivery and improve health outcomes across the country.
The Minister further described the initiative as a key milestone in Ghana’s healthcare reform agenda, emphasising its importance in expanding equitable access to medical services.
He also appealed to private sector actors, development partners, and individuals to support government efforts in scaling up healthcare infrastructure and ensuring broader access to quality care for all citizens.
