The family of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has officially unveiled funeral arrangements for the celebrated screen star following his passing at the age of 40, bringing renewed emotion across Nigeria’s entertainment industry and among admirers throughout Africa.
In a deeply moving statement shared through the actor’s official Instagram platform on Monday, relatives of the late performer described him as a compassionate and devoted individual whose life reflected kindness, faith, generosity, and extraordinary warmth toward others.
Opening the tribute with the words “Forever in Our Hearts,” the family expressed profound sorrow over the actor’s death while also giving thanks for what they described as a meaningful and impactful life.
According to the statement, the family remains overwhelmed by the immense support, prayers, visits, messages, and encouragement received from fans, colleagues, friends, and sympathisers since news of the actor’s death emerged publicly.
Relatives of the late actor stated that the overwhelming compassion shown during the difficult mourning period had provided strength and comfort beyond expression, adding that the affection demonstrated by supporters reflected the lasting influence Alexx Ekubo had on countless lives.
The family further portrayed the actor as a figure whose presence brought happiness, comfort, and unforgettable memories to everyone around him, stressing that his life was defined by love, laughter, humility, devotion to God, and unwavering care for people close to him.

Funeral activities in honour of the late actor will begin with a service of songs scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, between 4pm and 6pm, with mourners expected to attend dressed in white attire.
The wake keeping ceremony will subsequently take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 7 Ekubo Okwaraeke Avenue in Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, located in Abia State.
His funeral service is expected to follow on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, where family members, colleagues, supporters, and loved ones will gather to celebrate his life and bid farewell to the beloved actor.
The family also extended an invitation to friends, industry colleagues, admirers, and well wishers across the world to join in commemorating the actor’s life, legacy, and contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
