From the opening moments, the Black Maidens asserted full control of proceedings, dictating tempo, maintaining sustained pressure, and converting their dominance into a comprehensive scoreline that left the visitors with few answers throughout the ninety minutes.

The breakthrough arrived in the 31st minute when Daniella Abass opened the scoring with a composed finish to set the tone for Ghana’s attacking superiority.

After the interval, the intensity only increased. Seidatu Wahab doubled the advantage in the 57th minute from the penalty spot, reinforcing Ghana’s grip on the contest.

Barely moments later, the pressure proved overwhelming for Liberia as Linda Achiaa added a third goal in the same minute, further widening the gap and dismantling any hopes of a comeback.

Jessica Appiah followed up in the 60th minute with the fourth goal of the afternoon, as Ghana’s attacking rhythm continued to flow with precision and confidence.

The scoring spree continued in the 73rd minute when Priscilla Mensah extended the lead, before Mavis Yeboah completed the emphatic rout late in the game to seal a six goal triumph.

Liberia struggled throughout to cope with the pace, movement, and intensity of the Black Maidens, who combined technical discipline with attacking sharpness and tactical structure in both midfield and defence.

The result not only strengthens Ghana’s position in the qualification race for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup but also provides a significant confidence boost ahead of the return leg.

At the Accra Sports Stadium, the Black Maidens appeared well organised, relentless in attack, and fully committed to ensuring the first leg ended in emphatic fashion.

The two sides will meet again in Monrovia next weekend for the return fixture, where Ghana will look to complete the job and secure progression in the qualification campaign.
