The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority has announced expanded operating hours at selected offices across the country as part of renewed efforts to enhance public service delivery and improve accessibility for motorists, commercial operators and other clients seeking essential licensing and registration services.
In a public notice published on its official Facebook platform on Thursday, May 14, the Authority disclosed that designated branches will now operate from 6:00 in the morning until 10:00 in the evening from Monday through Friday under a newly introduced extended service arrangement.
The revised operational schedule is expected to ease pressure at heavily patronised centres while providing greater convenience for customers who require additional time to complete transactions relating to vehicle registration, driver licensing, roadworthiness documentation and other regulatory services administered by the Authority.
According to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, the expanded working hours will apply to several offices situated within key commercial and administrative centres across the country, including branches located in Accra, Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi, Tamale and other regional capitals.
Among the offices designated to operate under the new schedule are the DVLA Prestige Centre Head Office, the DVLA Narhman Office and the DVLA Weija Office, all situated within the Greater Accra Region.
The arrangement will also cover the DVLA Tema Office, the DVLA Kumasi Office and the DVLA Tarkwa Office as the Authority seeks to improve efficiency and reduce waiting periods for clients in high traffic operational zones.
Additional branches included in the initiative are the DVLA Bolgatanga Office, the DVLA Wa Office and the DVLA Tamale Office, extending the expanded service structure to the northern sector of the country.
Within the Western and Central Regions, customers accessing services at the DVLA Takoradi Office and the DVLA Cape Coast Office will also benefit from the prolonged operational hours introduced by the Authority.
The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority further confirmed that the DVLA Koforidua Office, DVLA Sunyani Office, DVLA Ho Office, DVLA Techiman Office and DVLA Winneba Office have all been incorporated into the nationwide programme.
The Authority explained that the initiative forms part of broader institutional measures aimed at modernising service delivery, reducing congestion at service centres and ensuring that members of the public are able to access critical transport related services with greater speed, flexibility and convenience.
