According to official notices released by the national electricity distributor, the maintenance activities will begin at 9:00 in the morning across the affected locations, although the duration of the interruptions will differ based on the scale and complexity of engineering works scheduled for each area.

Within the Ashanti Region, the planned maintenance exercise is expected to continue from 9:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening and will affect a broad range of communities including Edwenase, Kwadaso, Nwamase, Apire, Ampatia, Bebu, Dako, Adumasa, Ampabame Numbers One and Two, Mpatasie, Trede, Sabin Akrofrom, Takyiman, Denkyembouso, Ohuwmasi, Hill Top, sections of Asouyeboa, portions of Tanoso, Yabi, Merewadwa, Kokode, Aburaso, Kromoase, Akyeremade, Chichibon, Gyekye, Dida, Odeneho Kwadaso, OWASS, parts of Kwadaso, Agric Amanfrom, Santasi, Fankyenebra, Apemanim, Boko, Twedie, Foase, Manso Nkwanta, Antoakrom, Nweneso, Manso Adubia together with neighbouring settlements.

In the Western Region, another scheduled maintenance operation will take place between 9:00 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon and will affect Fiji Articulator Park together with adjoining communities. Furthermore, emergency engineering works will also be undertaken within the same period across Aboso township, Damang, Fante Mines, Bogoso Junction, New Site, Budo City and nearby areas.

The scheduled interventions follow a series of technical disturbances that affected parts of the Accra West Region on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

One of the faults, which occurred at Pentecost Junction, interrupted electricity supply to Borkorborkor, Numbotse, Afuaman, Manhean, Mallam Issah and surrounding communities. Technical personnel were subsequently dispatched to the affected location to repair the fault and restore power transmission.

In a separate development, a ruptured underground cable at Mango Lane triggered additional outages across Weija Junction, Menskrom, Jayee University, Regent University, Mango Lane and adjoining areas. The disruption also affected academic activities within the two tertiary institutions located in the area.

In its public communication, the Electricity Company of Ghana expressed regret over the inconvenience experienced by consumers as a result of both the scheduled maintenance operations and the unexpected technical breakdowns.

The company further assured residents and businesses that its engineering teams remain fully engaged in resolving the network complications while stressing that the maintenance exercises are essential to strengthening the reliability, stability and long term efficiency of electricity distribution infrastructure across the affected regions.
