President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Nairobi to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a major France Africa partnership gathering focused on sustainable development and economic transformation across the African continent.
The summit, convened by French President Emmanuel Macron, has brought together African heads of state, international financial leaders and global private sector actors to deliberate on strategies aimed at strengthening economic resilience and deepening cooperation across regions.
President Mahama, who also serves as African Union Champion for African Financial Institutions, is expected to contribute to a high level panel discussion on green industrialisation and energy transition scheduled for Tuesday morning.
The session will examine how African economies can accelerate industrial growth while simultaneously responding to the global climate crisis through sustainable and inclusive development pathways.
Later in the day, he is expected to participate in a working lunch discussion focused on reforms to the international financial architecture, with emphasis on improving African access to sustainable financing and promoting a more balanced global financial system that reflects the continent’s development priorities.

In addition, President Mahama, who is spearheading the Accra Reset Initiative, will co chair a roundtable discussion on health under the theme rethinking global health and building resilient national health systems, aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery frameworks across African states.
On the sidelines of the summit, he is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral engagements with key international figures, including United Nations Secretary General António Guterres, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, and IFAD President Álvaro Lario.
These discussions are expected to centre on global cooperation, economic stability, agricultural advancement, and enhanced food security strategies for Ghana and the wider African continent.
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to conclude his engagements in Nairobi and return to Accra on Tuesday evening.
