The officers, who are drawn from the Volta and Ashanti Regions, were commended for their involvement in separate security operations that led to the interception of ten sealed packages believed to contain narcotics, with an estimated value of one million, thirty two thousand, six hundred and fifty Ghana cedis, as well as the seizure of assorted weapons.

A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency confirmed that the promotions were effected on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and were granted in appreciation of the officers’ professionalism, vigilance, and commitment to duty.

According to the release, the honours were extended to personnel who played pivotal roles in distinct operations. In the Volta Region, officers successfully intercepted ten wrapped parcels suspected to contain cocaine and other illicit drugs, while in the Ashanti Region, a routine patrol at Jacobu led to the recovery of an AK forty seven rifle, a pump action shotgun, and eight live AAA ammunition rounds.

Mr Yohuno and members of the Police Management Board congratulated the officers on their elevation and lauded them for exemplifying the core values of the Ghana Police Service, particularly discipline, courage, and professional conduct.

The Inspector General of Police reminded the promoted officers that their advancement should be seen as a call to greater responsibility and higher standards of service. He further encouraged all police personnel to remain committed and hardworking, stressing that excellence, integrity, and dedication remain the key pillars upon which recognition and career progression within the Service are built.
