Wenchi: Residents defy rain to join ‘clean Wenchi 24’ exercise

Residents, station boys, youth groups and religious bodies in their hundreds on Saturday morning defied heavy rains
to join the 2nd edition of clean Wenchi 24’ exercise organized by Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako
III, the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area.
The exercise was under the theme "Tradition Meets Transformation: A clean Wenchi for a prosperous future".
The crowd followed the Omanhene to weed, clean, sweep and desilt gutters along the major stress in Wenchi
township amidst songs and dancing.
The crowd followed Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area
throughout the exercise and not even the falling rain could prevented their continuous outpouring onto the streets.
Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, addressing the gathering shortly after the exercise marveled at
the improvement in sanitation.
He thanked them for showing up in their numbers for a successful event.
The exercise was joined by the Member of Parliament for Wenchi constituency, Hon Alhaji Seidu Haruna, the
Parliamentary Candidate for NPP, Boafo Kojo Frempong and the Parliamentary Candidate for New Force, David
Kusi and their party supporters, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Ambulance
Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, students, keep fit clubs and many others.
