The renowned Ghanaian international evangelist, Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh has had a Media launch at the Press Centre in Accra. Dubbed “This Nonsense Must Stop”, the evangelist highlighted myriad challenges and problems bedeviling the country that need to be addressed quickly.

He called on the clergy, politicians, media, and citizens to seek the face of God to tackle the almost ‘out of hand’ situation we face now. He indicated that his proposal is a National Prayer Rally and Healing Service scheduled for one full month to ostensibly exorcise the country from its current predicaments through the power of God.

Touching on the Theme for the crusade, he opined that some people may see it as absurd, queer, and controversial one, but the reality is that there are stark ills staring us in the face that need to be spoken against and halted in Ghana.

“We must see wrong as wrong and avoid over politicization of wrongdoing; corruption of all forms by anyone or group needs to be exposed and shamed. Galamsey must be eradicated irrespective of the perpetrator(s). We need our environment intact as long as we live in this country and for the next generation,” he said. The Rev Minister called for a radical approach to solving some of these near-catastrophic challenges by seeking direction from the Lord.

“There must be a divine call for protection, prosperity, peace, mutual love, progress, and national repentance in a united front to come out of the situation we find ourselves in. As a country, we can’t do without the hand of God. This is like never before. Political democracy without God’s intervention is baseless. Therefore political leaders must join hands with the clergy to find solutions to the ongoing difficulties. A nation without a spiritual backbone is often found wobbling,” he pointed out.

Rev Tetteh quoted extensively from the scriptures to buttress his point. He bemoaned the degeneration of moral and religious values slacking in Ghanaian society giving way to utter disrespect to authority, status, and age. To this end, he called the citizens to turn to God for a solution. He agreed that some members of the clergy, media, politicians, chiefs, and leaders are not upright.

“It does not mean there are no good ones who can give good examples,” he said.

He further advised the entire country to eschew all types of social vices before God will reveal himself to us.

“At this juncture, we need God more than before and we have to turn a new leaf to get closer to Him by showing veritable virtues as a collective national responsibility,” he said.
