TECHIMAN SOUTH MP COMMISSIONS A MODERN TOILET FACILITY AT TESS

Mr. Martin Adjei – Mensah Korsah, the Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), on Wednesday handed over a 12 – seat Water Closet (WC) toilet facility to Techiman Senior High School (TESS).
The facility was funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), under the emergency support project.
Addressing a gathering of students and teachers, the Deputy Minister thanked the contractor for completing the project as scheduled without compromising on quality.
Mr Adjei – Mensah who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman South constituency, said the facility was constructed in fulfillment of his promise to build a toilet facility for the male students of the school.
” I visited the school on 17th October last year to make a donation. The school’s authorities appealed to me for new facilities to replace the existing ones which were in deplorable state” he disclosed.
The MP implored the students, management, staff, Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), and other stakeholders to maintain the standard of the facility through routine refurbishment to ensure it lasted longer.
He indicated that other sectors of the economy including health, security, sanitation, social services, agriculture, and youth and women empowerment have received support from the government in the constituency, towards the socio-economic growth of the area.
Mr Adjei – Mensah assured residents of Techiman South to rally behind President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo to improve the standard of living of the people adding that “together we can make Ghana great and strong”.
Mr Gabriel Ofosu Mensah, the Headmaster of Techiman SHS, expressed gratitude to Mr Adjei – Mensah for his prompt fulfillment of his promise saying that posterity will forever be grateful to you.
He eulogized the Deputy Minister for his numerous support to the school including the donation of 700 dual desks, the presentation of regimental instruments to the school’s cadet, and a 65-seat capacity bus.
The rest were the donation of 20 bags of sugar to complement the supply of foodstuffs by Ghana Buffer Stock (GBS) to the SHS, 20 bags of cement and 10 packets of roofing sheets to the Techiman Senior High Basic School.
Mr Benjamin Yaw Gyarko, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Techiman, in his remarks informed the gathering that the Municipal Assembly was constructing another 20-seat toilet facility for female students.
He assured that the project, which was financed by the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) of the assembly, would be completed on time noting that he as MCE and Mr Adjei – Mensah have prioritized education in the area.
The MCE reiterated the commitment of the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to turn the economy around despite the devastating effect of global economic challenges which bedeviled the country noting that “better days are ahead of us”.
