‘Prison Break’ @ Wenchi; Police Commander In Hospital! …As unidentified youth release 8 suspects from cells

Unidentified irate youth on Tuesday morning attack the Wenchi Police Station, vandalized properties and eventually
freed eight people who were in police custody on suspicion of committing various crimes.
A close source from Wenchi police indicated that the Wenchi Municipal police commander DSP Nana Boakye
Yiadom in the morning yesterday went to make an arrest around Tohaba area, a suburb of Wenchi in the Bono
Region.
According to the source when he got to the house of suspect, the latter was not at home and the commander arrested
the suspect’s wife who is pregnant to the police station.
However, the irate youth went to the police station to release the woman from police cells.
According to the source when the youth got to the police station the Wenchi Municipal police commander fired gun
on them, but the youth took the gun from him.
They vandalized commander's vehicle, charge office, destroyed a flat screen tv, fridge, computer and its accessories,
slide doors and other properties.
The irate youth also broke the cell doors and released 8 inmates from the police cells.
Those who escaped include one convict, two persons on remands and five criminal suspects.
Currently the police commander has been admitted to the Bono Regional hospital for treatment.
