In a Constitutional Instrument released on Monday, January 19, 2026, the Speaker fixed Parliament House in Accra as the location and set 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, as the official time for the opening of the session.

The notice, signed by Rt. Hon. Bagbin on January 19, was issued pursuant to the authority vested in him under Article 112(1) of the 1992 Constitution, which empowers the Speaker to summon Parliament at the beginning of a session.

The Constitutional Instrument serves as a formal notification to Members of Parliament, state institutions, and the general public that parliamentary proceedings for the new session will commence on the stated date.

With the announcement, Parliament is expected to resume its legislative, oversight, and representative duties as scheduled for the new session.
