Afrobeats star and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has appealed to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to allocate land in Accra for the construction of a modern event complex, pledging to invest $2 million into the project if the request is granted.

The Nigerian-born musician, who launched his music career in Ghana, made the appeal during his headline performance at Detty Rave 2025, held on Saturday, December 27, at Untamed Empire along the Spintex Road.

Pausing midway through his set, Mr Eazi told the crowd that Ghana’s creative industry urgently needs properly designed indoor and outdoor venues capable of hosting world-class events. He said his proposal was aimed at filling that gap while strengthening the country’s entertainment infrastructure.

Commitment to Invest in Ghana

According to the emPawa Africa founder, some stakeholders may doubt his seriousness, which is why he publicly committed $2 million toward the project.

“I want the Ghana Tourism Authority to know that I am serious,” he told the audience. “I need land for both an outdoor and an indoor events venue. If they think I’m joking, I am putting $2 million on the table. I want to build a proper rave yard and a 3,000-capacity indoor venue right here in Accra.”

Mr Eazi added that such infrastructure would help Ghana host large-scale entertainment events, attract international acts, and strengthen the country’s position as a cultural hub in Africa.

Detty Rave 2025: A Celebration of African Music

The appeal came during the seventh edition of Detty Rave, one of Africa’s most influential Afrobeats and urban music festivals. The 2025 edition was staged under the theme “Raise the Heat” and transformed Untamed Empire into a vibrant arena of music, lights, and performance art.

Thousands of fans gathered to witness performances from a star-studded lineup that included Davido, J Hus, SPINALL, Nooriyah, Chichi DJ, Ciza, DJ Aroma, and Choplife Soundsystem.

Widely regarded as a flagship event in Ghana’s December-in-GH calendar, Detty Rave has grown into a major cultural attraction, drawing both local and international audiences.

A Broader Vision for Ghana’s Creative Economy

Mr Eazi’s call highlights ongoing conversations around the need for modern, purpose-built venues to support Ghana’s expanding entertainment and tourism industries. Industry players have long argued that inadequate infrastructure limits the country’s ability to host large-scale concerts, festivals, and international productions.

By offering private investment backed by global experience, Mr Eazi positioned his proposal as a partnership opportunity rather than a request for state funding.

Whether the Ghana Tourism Authority will take up the offer remains to be seen, but the proposal has reignited discussions around public–private collaboration in Ghana’s creative economy.
