Gov’t Sets up Committee to Combat Effects of Volta Lake Flooding 

The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has set up an inter-ministerial committee to coordinate the government’s response to the unfortunate flooding of some communities following the spill from the Volta dam.

The Committee is headed by the Chief of Staff as the Chairperson.

This was contained in a press release dated 13th October, 2023, signed by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Information.

It named the members of the other members of the committee as Ministers for National Security, 

Interior, Defence, Energy, Finance and Local Government.

Others are the Ministers for Works and Housing, Roads and Highways, Environment, Sanitation,

Lands and Natural Resources and Information.
