Adaklu Kodzobi (V/R), Jan. 26, GNA-Rev. Daniel Korda, a Zonal Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Adaklu district says fire is a good servant, but a bad master and appealed to the people to avoid setting bushfires during this dry season.

Rev. Korda made the appeal when officials of the Adaklu district office of NADMO met the chiefs and people of Adaklu Kodzobi as part of their tour of the district to educate the people on the devastating effects of bushfires.

He said bushfires did not only destroy flora and fauna, but people’s property as well and advised the people to switch off all electrical appliances and unplug the cables from the sockets if not in use, and close the top of their cylinders and not only from the burners as most people do.

Mr. Bismarck Vehe, also a Zonal Coordinator, advised passengers to alight from vehicles at filling stations when drivers want to buy fuel and appealed to the people to reinforce their buildings and also plant trees around them to serve as wind breaks.

In an answer to a question, he assured the people that the Adaklu District Assembly was leaving no stone unturned to curtail the menace of Fulani herdsmen in the district.

During an open four the people suggested to the government to enact a law banning drivers from carrying passengers to filling stations before refueling their vehicles as it had become a norm.
