Crystal Palace are firm favourites to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka on loan this summer, 90min understands.
Wan-Bissaka’s Manchester United career stalled badly last season, with injuries and poor performances restricting him to just 26 appearances in all competitions.
His fortunes particularly dipped after Ralf Rangnick took interim charge of the Red Devils part way through the campaign, with the German understood to have recommended that United move the player on.
And 90min understands that Wan-Bissaka could well be on the move this summer, albeit on a temporary basis. United are willing to let him leave on loan this summer and former club Palace are currently in pole position to secure his services.
Jose Mourinho had been keen to bring Wan-Bissaka to Roma, but the Serie A side have instead opted to pursue Lille right-back Zeki Celik.
Listen now to 90min’s brand new podcast, Talking Transfers, with Scott Saunders, Graeme Bailey & Toby Cudworth. On their most packed show to date, the guys discuss Sadio Mane’s valuation as Liverpool win the race for Darwin Nunez, how Marc Roca joining Leeds could allow Kalvin Phillips to depart for long-time admirers Manchester City, the latest on Manchester United’s pursuits of Frenkie de Jong & Antony and much more.
With I Giallorossi out of the running, Palace have moved into the driving seat to sign a player they sold to United for close to £50m back in 2019.
Wan-Bissaka seems likely to become the latest player to leave United this summer with Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata among those that have already been moved on.
Meanwhile, at Selhurst Park, Palace are not only looking to complete a deal for Wan-Bissaka.
As reported by 90min recently, the Eagles are also closing in on signing goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Johnstone has impressed for West Brom over the past four seasons but he is out of contract at the end of the month and would be available on a free transfer.
