Burna Boy, a well-known Afrobeats artist from Nigeria, has cancelled his much-anticipated show at the Johan Cruyff Arena Stadium in the Netherlands on June 9.

Fans were disappointed by the cancellation, which is believed to have resulted from purported contractual violations by the event organisers.

In an Instagram story posted on May 2, Burna Boy regretfully informed fans that “due to failure by the event organizers to meet their contract obligations, Burna Boy’s concert at the stadium on June 9th has been cancelled.”

Burna Boy expressed his regret over the situation and assured fans that all ticket holders would receive a full refund within 30 days.

“All ticket buyers will be refunded from point of purchase within 30 days,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Burna Boy became the highest-grossing African musician for an arena concert in US history prior to the postponement of his event in the Netherlands.

His performance at Boston’s TD Garden on March 2, 2024, brought in $1.593 million, surpassing his own earnings at Madison Square Garden in 2022.
