The outgoing National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has headlined the 2026 NDC LAB Policy Colloquium ongoing at the Safari Valley Resort in Adukrom. The 2 day Colloquium was convened to appraise the performance of the Mahama-led government. The strategic meeting has assembled leading party figures, government appointees, and members of the LAB policy think-tank to assess the record of the Mahama administration and to outline the party’s future policy direction.

Speaking to participants today, Wednesday, October 28, Mr. Asiedu Nketiah argued strongly for maintaining consistent policies under NDC administrations, stressing that it is vital for drawing in investment and securing sustainable national growth. “The NDC will do better if it is able to maintain policy consistency. The nation will be better off if successive governments consistently maintain key elements of policy. That is the way to attract investment,” he said.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah noted that policy stability would boost investor trust to channel funds into programmes that demand extended planning and could outlive the lifespan of a single government. Mr. Asiedu Nketiah further called on LAB to deepen its partnership with the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) to make sure its outputs align with Ghana’s long-range development framework. He also lauded LAB for keeping its policy research alive since it started as a team that helped put together the NDC’s 2020 manifesto, and applauded its input into the party’s 2024 manifesto and its continued role in tracking how the policies it helped craft are being executed.
