Celtic will close out their triumphant 2021/22 campaign with a visit from Motherwell on Saturday.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have already sealed the Scottish Premiership title with a game to spare and can treat this game as somewhat of a celebration in front of their home fans.
Motherwell, on the other hand, won’t be there to party. They’ve confirmed a spot in next season’s Europa League play-offs but are still battling with Dundee United for fourth place in the league. Graham Alexander’s side are one point ahead and need a win to guarantee their spot.
Here’s all you need to know about this one.
When is kick off? Saturday 14 May, 12:15 (BST)
Where is the match being played? Celtic Park
TV channel/live stream? Sky Sports Main Event (UK)
Highlights? Sky Sports YouTube channel
Referee? Alan Muir
With no real fitness issues to deal with, other than Josip Juranović’s injury, Postecoglou can do what he wants with this final fixture of the season.
Some fringe players could be drafted in, and keep an eye out for midfielder Nir Bitton, who is rumoured to be leaving the club this summer after nine years of service.
Barry Maguire remains sidelined while he nurses a nasty muscle injury, but Alexander doesn’t have any fresh fitness concerns for this one.
Postecoglou’s side will be keen to end this season on a high note, and even if the boss chooses to rotate his squad slightly, Celtic’s immense attacking depth will keep them in the ascendancy.
This fixture means more to Motherwell but it’s going to be tough for them to overcome Celtic on their home turf. Postecoglou’s side are champions for a reason, after all.
At the end of the day, expect a comfortable victory for the home side.
Prediction: Celtic 2-0 Motherwell
