A group of aggrieved members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) by the name Western North Grassroot Agenda (WNGA) are calling on the General Secretary of the Party, Mr John Boadu to quickly call their Regional Chairman Mr Benjiman William Assuah to order over alleged plans to appoint communication officers and other appointees from the various constituencies without recourse to constituency executives.

This alleged attempt, per the group, is schemed to undermine the authorities of constituency executives as well as selecting individuals to endorse his candidature in the upcoming regional executive elections.

The Group further alleged, they have it in THE rumour miLl that, the Regional Chairman together with the Regional Minister, Mr Richard Obeng Ebbah are preparing a new list of constituency communication officers and appointees who are likely to vote for the incumbent chairman.

They also appealed to Mr John Boadu not to accept any back door list from the regional chairman on the appointment of the Communication Officers, Women Organizers, or Research Officers among other positions until an official approval is given by the Constituency Executives from the various areas.

The group said, they are not going to sit aloof for the unfortunate and barbaric incident to occur under their watch.

The group said their Regional Chairman devised rough tactics, machinations, intimidations and Machiavellian tactics during the elections of the constituency executive in some various constituencies within the Region.

They mentioned some of the incidents as the dubious disqualification of Mrs Joana Morcher, a four time women’s organizer for Aowin Constituency, after going through a successful vetting process.

Madam Constance Asare aspiring women’s organizer, Mr Benson Afful aspiring organizer and Mr Clifford aspiring assistant secretary were all disqualified without given any tangible reasons to their disqualification.

The group emphatically told the media that, at Sefwi Juaboso for instance, the chairmanship race was between Maxwell Quansah, who happens to be the darling boy of the regional chairman and Prosper Sakpaku.

At end of the elections, Prosper Sakpaku obtained 346 votes while his only contender Maxwell Quansah’s polled 340 votes with 2 rejected votes which clearly showed that Mr Prosper Sakpaku had emerged the winner.

The group further alleged that the Regional Minister and Western North Regional Chairman have used powers to turn over the results to suit their preferred choice.

These complaints were raised during a press conference held on Tuesday 3, 2022 at Sefwi Juaboso to register their displeasure to the party’s General Secretary through their media.

The group requested their General Secretary to as matter of urgency, send delegations to come to Western North Region to conduct a vivid investigation to stall peace and tranquility before the upcoming Regional Elections.

“We will not allow our Regional Chairman to use his mafia tactics to rig the internal elections which can cause the party to break the eight year mantra,” they said.

“Mr John Boadu must call our regional chairman to order else there will be chaos,” they stressed emphatically.
