Week 16 of the 2022 Major League Soccer season has come and gone, and players absolutely did not disappoint. There were several goals to choose from this week, but only five made our list.
We couldn’t leave out Will Bruin, after his incredible connection with Cristian Roldan, or Indiana Vassilev, who single-handedly saved the day for Inter Miami. But it was youngster Ralph Priso that topped the list.
Here’s all you need to know about this week’s edition…
To kick off, we have Will Bruin’s header against Sporting Kansas City.
After connecting with Cristian Roldan, the player headed the ball from the left and into the opposite corner to open up the scoring.
The Sounders ended up triumphing 3-0 over Sporting KC.
Indiana Vassilev deserves a place on this list after coming on to save Inter Miami.
The Aston Villa loanee replaced Ariel Lassister in the 83rd minute to save the day, scoring the equalizer and game-winning goal.
Head coach Phil Neville praised the player after the game, admitting he knew Vassilev could be the defining factor.
“I pulled him [aside] before the game and the one thing I said to him is that your goals will come. Just compose yourself a little bit more. He’s had three, four, five chances in games and just snatched at it.
“I’m really, really proud of Indiana. Since he’s come in, he’s totally livened up the place again. He’s a really good kid.”
It only took Lovitz six minutes to score, firing home a left-footed strike from the left in his 150th MLS start. The goal also stands as his first of the season.
The player’s efforts kicked off the 3-1 victory over the Eastern Conference side.
Darwin Quintero does it again.
The player scored his sixth goal of the season for Houston, slowly climbing his way into the Golden Boot race. Quintero worked with Adam Lundqvist to bring down a cross inside the box, before managing the right-footed low shot inside the far post.
His efforts led the Dynamo to a 2-0 victory over the Chicago Fire.
And at the top of the list: Toronto’s Ralph Priso.
The player scored the game-winning goal in a stunning fashion, rocketing a left-footed shot from just outside the box to the top left corner. Atlanta United goalkeeper Rocco Ríos Novo attempted to make the save, but there was absolutely nothing he could do.
