The Founder and Leader of the Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation and an Activist Against War, Apostle Dr. Kadiemel Agbalenyo has called on the United Nations (UN) to protect people in the Ukraine who are being subjected to Abuse and genocide by Russia. According to him, the continued Special Russia Military Operation against Ukraine poses a huge obstacle for those who fight for peace around the world. He said that for the past few weeks Russia has invaded Ukraine and is senselessly bombing and killing innocent citizens of Ukraine.
“The UN General Assembly and Security Council should call both Russia and Ukraine to a meeting and settle their differences amicably,” he said.
Apostle Dr. Kadiemel Agbalenyo said these in an address he delivered on 6th May, 2022 at the occasion of the celebration of the Feast of Weeks Festivals (Pentacost) at Homedakrom, Headquarters of the Church in South Akuapim Municipality, Eastern Region.
He called for all and sundry to go on his or her knees and pray to God Almighty so that the ruinous situation in Ukraine can stabilize as quickly as possible and return to normality. He also said all religions should pray, so that the misunderstanding between the two sister countries, Russia and Ukraine, does not erupt to a full scale world war.
Therefore the world leaders must act quickly and sensibly.
Giving the genesis of this conflict, Apostle explained that when the Soviet Union existed, both Russia and Ukraine were one people working together. However, after the Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991, each member country became a sovereign Republic country ruling with a constitution of her own. He said that since then Russia has consistently asked Ukraine not to join the NATO but to stay neutral. Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelensky said his country has formally applied for the membership of NATO already despite Russia’s objections to such moves. Russia was with a conviction that the Black Sea Naval Base that Russia has in Crimea, which is their biggest base is not going to be a NATO base with nuclear weapons against Russia.
Apostle Kadiemel emphasized that despite the security reasons from Russia invasion should not be the option, therefore it must be condemned out right, adding that Russia President Vladimir Puten must know that the short-range and long-range missiles he is sending to Ukraine destroy properties and kills human beings in hundreds of thousands. He must remember that God has said that whoever sheds the blood of man by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. Gen. 9:6
Apostle gave a sigh-of-relief when the news came to him that the Ghanaian Students Studying in Ukraine and were caught up in the war have been evacuated and arrived in Ghana with a few left to arrive soon.
Apostle lauded the government for the humanitarian gesture shown to her citizens in time of need.
