Paris Saint-Germain will finish their 2021/22 season on Saturday night when a Metz side fighting for Ligue 1 survival are the visitors to Parc des Princes.
There could be considerable changes coming this summer, with Kylian Mbappe unavailable here and soon out of contract, while there are doubts over coach Mauricio Pochettino’s future.
This is the starting XI Pochettino could send out at the weekend.
GK: Keylor Navas – Continues to swap in and out with Gianluigi Donnarumma in the final stages of the season but there is potential for this to be his last game with the club.
RB: Thilo Kehrer – Favoured over Achraf Hakimi against Montpellier and could get rare consecutive starts.
CB: Sergio Ramos – Has started five of the last eight Ligue 1 games since an injury comeback, but is fighting for this place with Presnel Kimpembe following his suspension.
CB: Marquinhos – Looking to end his second season as club captain on a high.
LB: Juan Bernat – Like Kehrer on the right, could benefit from successive starts, having rotated with Nuno Mendes for the last few games.
CM: Danilo Pereira – Rested against Montpellier but has mostly been a starter this season and should get the chance to put a cap on the campaign here.
CM: Ander Herrera – Came back into the side last week after a lengthy spell sidelined and will be grateful for getting more minutes under his belt.
CM: Georginio Wijnaldum – Not the season he would have wanted after leaving Liverpool but this is a chance to get a second successive start for the first time in a while.
RF: Angel Di Maria – Set to keep his place because of Kylian Mbappe’s suspension. This will be his final game for the club after seven years in Paris.
CF: Lionel Messi – The veteran superstar scored only his fifth and sixth league goals of the season last time out but should continue in a central role in Mbappe’s absence.
LF: Neymar – Should be back after serving a suspension. Has 10 goal involvements in his last six Ligue 1 games alone.
