PSG will resume their quest for European dominance on Tuesday when they get their Champions League campaign underway against Juventus.

Christophe Galtier has this year delivered the sort of performances which we expected to see last year under Mauricio Pochettino, but Juventus will present a stern test to the new manager’s credentials.

Here’s how Galtier could set up.

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma – Keylor Navas is waiting in the wings but Galtier may prefer to stick with Donnarumma to build more stability at the back.

CB: Danilo Pereira – Danilo has been one of PSG’s best defenders this season. He’s earned the chance to play.

CB: Marquinhos – The club captain hasn’t been at his best this year but has still been good enough to merit a spot in the team.

CB: Sergio Ramos – The ageing Spaniard’s legs were given a lengthy rest last time out against Nantes so he should be ready to start once more.

RM: Achraf Hakimi – Needs to start offering more before Nordi Mukiele gets the chance to take his place. His return of two goals and an assist this year has flattered him at times.

CM: Marco Verratti – Brought off early in both PSG’s last few games to preserve his legs. Can expect to see a whole lot of the ball against Juventus.

CM: Vitinha – Picked up a knee injury after being challenged by Fabio last time out and limped off the pitch, but the belief is that he is actually healthy enough to feature once again.

LM: Nuno Mendes – A fantastic left-back, Mendes played just 45 minutes last time out, suggesting Galtier wants him fresh for this one.

AM: Neymar – With nine goals and six assists in just seven games this year, it’s safe to say Neymar is enjoying life under Galtier.

AM: Lionel Messi – Another to have benefitted from the change in regime, Messi has been playing with freedom this year and has four goals and six assists to show for it.

ST: Kylian Mbappe – Mbappe doesn’t get subbed off often but was rested for the final half an hour against Nantes. Galtier did not want to take any risks with him.
