The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called on government to consider bringing on board Ibrahim Mahama’s Exton Cubic when it comes to mining in the Atewa Range at Nyinahin.

He has said government should bring on board all those who have knowledge and capacity in the industry so that there will be peace and development.

The Asantehene was speaking to a delegation from Rocksure International.  Rocksure International has signed a contract with Government of Ghana for the development of bauxite resources ar Nyinahin. The delegation had called on the Otumfuo at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to pay a courtesy call on him.

In his remarks, the Asantehene said, “The rest (concessions) that is left that government (sic) is looking at we are praying that they would get good people who have the knowledge about the industry so that they can arrive at an arrangement and give them some to do.

“I know that one of my children from the NDC period…they took it to court. The name was Exton something (Exton Cubic). I believe that even after what the government is saying now, there is still more. They (Exton Cubic) should also go and tender and get some. If they qualify they should also be given some (sic) for them to do and everything will go on well and there will be peace.

“If they also have the knowledge they should also go for government to look at, so that just as Rocksure has received a contract, he can also receive a contract, so that all those who have knowledge in that field as well as the capacity, he/she can go and also do some. So that the government should give them some of the remaining so that the nation would develop.

“We are praying that we would get people at Nyinahin to do the project so that there will be development. “We thank them very much,” he said to the delegation.
