Tottenham summer signing Ivan Perisic has returned to pre-season training early after suffering a calf injury at the end of the previous campaign.
Perisic was Spurs’ first confirmed arrival of the current window, joining on a free transfer following the expiration of his Inter contract.
The Croatian knows Tottenham boss Antonio Conte well, with the pair winning the Scudetto together back in 2021.
As reported by football.london Perisic got a head start on the rest of the Spurs squad by starting pre-season training a few days early.
His teammates who were not involved in international football this summer are scheduled to start work on Monday. However, Perisic completed his first session at Hotspur Way on Friday.
Perisic is said to have returned ahead of time to give himself the best chance of fully recovering from a calf injury he sustained at the end of last season.
Provided he can get back to something resembling full fitness, he would be expected to feature in Spurs’ upcoming friendlies in South Korea, with the squad set to depart for that trip on Saturday 9 July.
Perisic has been joined at Spurs this summer by fellow new arrivals Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison. A deal for Middlesbrough wing-back Djed Spence is expected to be completed soon as well.
