Imposition of curfew on Nkonya and Alavanyo and their environs

The Ministry of Interior has on the advice of the Volta Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours for Nkonya and Alavanyo Townships and their environs from 6:00 pm to 6:00am effective Sunday, November 28, 2021.


This was contained in a press release dated Sunday, November 28, 2021. It was signed by Hon Ambrose Derry, Minister for the Interior.

The statement said that government continued to urge the Chiefs, elders, opinion leaders and youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them as well as use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the afore-mentioned communities and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons and any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.

The statement was copied to the media, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, and the Production Coordinator, Ghana Publishing Company.
