The Controller and Accountant General of Ghana Mr. Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem has stated that Ghana’s Treasury remains solid, safe, and solid for the delivery of all payment services.

He has therefore allayed all fears that government would not be able to meet its payment schedules.

“Indeed in some cases salaries are getting to recipients ahead of schedule. There is no cause for alarm as far as payments are concerned,” Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem said when a delegation from the Daily Searchlight visited him in his office recently.

Of late, people have expressed concern about the ability of the Treasury to meet its obligations due to the reports that the economy is in distress.

Mr. Kwaning-Bosompem however allayed the fears, saying that all cash flow projections to the Treasury demonstrated clearly that there was no cause for alarm.

“In all our projections, we do not foresee any events that would derail the government’s payments position. People will continue to be paid, and projects would continue to be paid for, as usual,” he stated.

Kwaning-Bosompem is a renowned Public Servant of 34 years standing in Ghana’s Public Service with extensive senior management and leadership experience across varied governmental institutions, agencies, local authorities, and private organizations.

The Controller and Accountant General’s Department is the Accounting Services and the Treasury of Ghana, responsible for providing adequate accounting systems and controls in the State MDAs.
