Chelsea will be looking to get over their FA Cup final hangover by beating Leicester in the Premier League on Thursday night.
The Blues will be relieved to see the season’s end as they aim to improve on a poor start to the calendar year under Todd Boehly’s stewardship next term. For now though, they will be looking to put on a show for their supporters in their penultimate match of the 2021/22 campaign.
Here is the starting XI Thomas Tuchel seems most likely to go with…
Edouard Mendy (GK) – Mendy has allowed a few mistakes to drift into his game this season but he has still managed an impressive save percentage of close to 75%.
Cesar Azpilicueta (CB) – His future remains in doubt with rumours linking him with Barcelona refusing to go away.
Trevoh Chalobah (CB) – Has been back in the first-team fold recently after an extended spell on the bench.
Antonio Rudiger (CB) – This will likely be his penultimate appearance in a Blue shirt with a summer move to Real Madrid in the pipeline.
Reece James (RWB) – James has enjoyed a remarkably productive season, registering five goals and seven assists in 20 Premier League starts.
N’Golo Kante (CM) – Scored against his former club in this season’s return fixture and will be eager to make the net bulge again.
Jorginho (CM) – Has not quite reached the heights of the 2020/21 campaign when he was being touted for the Ballon d’Or.
Marcos Alonso (LWB) – His delivery for wide areas will cause Leicester – who have struggled defending crosses into the box this season – serious issues
Hakim Ziyech (RF) – Has been touted for a move to Man Utd in the summer, a switch that would see him reunite with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.
Mason Mount (LF) – Comfortably Chelsea’s Premier League top scorer with 11 goals. He also has 10 assists.
Romelu Lukaku (ST) – In line for just his 15th Premier League start of the season.
