A colorful sod-cutting ceremony has been held for the commencement of work for an ultra-modern AstroTurf football pitch at Asuano in the Koase Electoral Area in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.
The edifice is fully sponsored by the NPP parliamentary candidate for Wenchi constituency Hon Boafo Kojo Frempong as part of his vision of making Wenchi Great Again together to build the new Wenchi through sports.
Speaking at the ceremony, the NPP parliamentary candidate Boafo Kojo Frempong expressed his profound gratitude to the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame through Ghana Gas Company Limited for responding adequately to his request for the construction of an ultra-modern AstroTurf football pitch for the residents of Asuogya enclave.
According to him the project when completed will serve over 10,000 people within the area.
In an interview with the CEO of Wembley Construction firm, Kwasi Antwi, he said the pitch will be completed before the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections this year.
Kwasi Antwi further explained that the pitch comprises flood lights, panel mesh fencing and 200 capacity seater stands.
Nana Agyei Gyan Ampem Akama Dadaa III, the Benkumhene of Wenchi Traditional Area speaking on behalf of Osagyefo Ampem Anyye Amoampong Tabrako III, the Omanhene of Wenchi Traditional Area commended Boafo Kojo Frempong for the initiative.
Nana Agyei Gyan Ampem Akama Dadaa III seized the opportunity to entreat the residents of Asuogya to consider the humanitarian works of Boafo Kojo Frempong to support his vision of becoming MP for the Wenchi constituency come the December 7 elections.
