Somewhere in the land, male family members of a young girl aged about thirteen has given her a brutal whipping for refusing to enter into a forced marriage.
According to the narrative accompanying a video post on social media, the girl was forced into marriage but ran back home to take her books to go back to school.
When her parents and siblings caught her, they subjected they stretched her on the ground and gave a brutal whipping with a cane amidst screams.
In the process, she was stripped naked!
In Ghana, the law frowns on forced marriage and corporal punishment, and one hopes that the authorities would act swiftly to identify her, her assailants and bring her justice.
Please pass it on to the world so that she can get justice and probably a real war can be fought to stop this barbarism.
