Indian Super League (ISL) side, ATK Mohun Bagan will look to get their AFC Cup 2022 campaign back on track when they host Bangladeshi side, Bashundhara Kings in their second game at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday, 21 May.
ATK Mohun Bagan started their campaign in the worst possible way when they were shocked 4-2 by fellow Indian side, Gokulam Kerala FC in what was a poor game by their high standards. Head coach, Juan Ferrando admitted that failure to take their chances cost them on the night and they have to win their remaining games if they are to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the inter-zone playoff semi-finals as only one team from Group D will make it to the next round.
Bashundhara Kings for their part come into the game on the back of a hard-fought 1-0 win over Maziya. The Kings would consider themselves fortunate to secure all three points on the night, considering that they only registered 42 per cent possession and 344 passes when compared to their opponents (58 per cent possession and registered 471 passes).
The game will take place on Saturday, 21 May at 4:30pm IST.
The Star Sports network (Star Sports and Star Sports Select) has the rights to show the AFC Cup 2022 matches in India. The game will be shown on Star Sports Select 3 and live stream will be available on Disney+ Hotstar and JioTV.
Juan Ferrando will be without key defender, Tiri who suffered an knee injury during their game against Gokulam Kerala and was brought off in the 38th minute. The team management confirmed that the Spaniard had tore his ACL and is ruled out for 7-8 weeks.
Bashundhara Kings have no injury issues and have a fully fit squad for the game.
