Okatakyie Osei-Ed, who is also affectionately called katakyie Edmund among Old Boys of Opoku Ware School is a talented multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter.
He is also a fine musician who creates all the elements of his music, from instrumentation to singing.
Okatakyie has been around all these years monitoring the trend of music in Ghana and around the world. He is inspired by people, places and scriptures from which he derives his lyrical content. He spends most of his time learning new skills and creating new ideas.
He is believed to be the first Old Student in the history of Ghana Schools (SHS) to come out with a whole Music Album in honour of his alma mater on her Anniversary Celebration, this year -2022. (Owass@70). He is also the first gospel musician that has emerged from Akatakyie fraternity.
Some of his songs include; Halleluyiah Victory, YÉ›n’som Nyame, Restoration, I thank you Lord, Lady of my praise, Nyame ba, Happy Day (Owass@70) & Tribute to Owass (Inst). In his song YÉ›n’som Nyame, he charged everyone to pray for the President. And all clergies to support their memebers.
Besides music, he has profound interest in Writing. He is also fascinated about Salsa dance, Fashion, Fitness, Athletics, Martial Arts, Horse back riding and many more. Okatakyie Osei-Ed calls himself ‘Gospel Song Warrior’.
