The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced to the general public that effective 26th June to 4th July, 2023 it will embark on a nationwide exercise to eschew the dominant illigal practice of customers.
The objective of the exercise is to focus on all categories of customers in arrears including State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
Additionally, special team from ECG will be deployed to monitor, apprehend and prosecute customers who attempt to interfere with the exercise or undertake illegal self-reconnection after disconnection.
While ECGs centers remain open to serve, customers in arrears are advised to pay their bills now to avoid disconnection and payment of reconnection fees.
Pursuant to ECGs directive, ECG shall operate with a lean staff pool that will provide essential services to customers during the revenue mobilization period to enable total participation by top management and staff.
ECG noted that the only mode of securing payment of bills is to download the App from Google Play Store, App Store, or better still contact the ECG center on 0302611611 for any assistance.
