The Ghana Education Service (GES) has commenced investigations into a disturbing video circulating on social media which purportedly shows two teachers of Techiman Senior High School assaulting a student.
In a press statement released on Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Service identified the teachers involved as Mr Jerry Jones Owusu Bekoe and Mr Adusa Ameyaw, indicating that the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident were being examined to establish the facts and determine the appropriate course of action.
According to the statement, signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the school’s disciplinary committee has already conducted an initial hearing into the matter as part of efforts to establish what transpired.
The committee is expected to forward its findings and recommendations to Management through the Regional Directorate in the coming days, after which further administrative decisions will be considered.
The GES also identified the affected student as Seedorf Abeka Ampah, a final year Agricultural Science student of the school, confirming that he had received medical attention following the incident and was responding favourably to treatment.
The Service expressed concern over the situation and appealed to members of the public to remain calm and allow the established investigative and disciplinary processes to proceed without interference.
It further indicated that the outcome of the disciplinary committee’s inquiry would provide the necessary basis for Management to determine the subsequent steps, including any appropriate administrative or disciplinary measures.
Meanwhile, the culpability of the two teachers has not yet been formally established, and no final determination has been announced regarding their involvement in the alleged assault.
The GES is expected to consider the committee’s findings before reaching a decision on the matter.
