The Wenchi East District Pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church has called for stricter enforcement of sanitation bylaws to ensure a clean environment.
Pastor Samuel Addai said it was time traditional authorities and the Wenchi Municipal Assembly to act firmly to end the practice of indiscriminate littering at open places by some individuals.
He emphasized the need for residents to adhere to sanitation regulations and highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining a clean environment.
Pastor Samuel Addai made the call on Sunday July 6, 2025 when he led members of both the Wenchi East and West Districts of the SDA Church in Wenchi in the Midwest Ghana Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the Bono Region to embark on a cleanup exercise at the Wenchi Lorry Park.
The exercise is in fulfillment of the National Sanitation Day initiative by government.
Some drivers and business operators at the lorry park commended the SDA church for regular cleaning up exercises to maintain cleanliness at the station.
They also appealed to the Wenchi Municipal Assembly to provide them with refuse containers to enable them throw their garbage in.
